CITING THE DATA

We ask users to cite the data as follows:

We also encourage users to include an acknowledgement line in their papers or books when using data or reports from the World Bank Enterprise Analysis Unit. We suggest the following wording; please feel free to amend as appropriate: "We thank the Enterprise Analysis Unit of the Development Economics Global Indicators Department of the World Bank for the data."

We recommend that authors provide the version of the dataset through highlighting its name and date of publication either in the citation or in the graphs/tables. Data files may be updated from time to time and individual economy datasets might be accesible through multiple data files.

Please note: Authors are not permitted to transfer data sets downloaded from this site to third parties (including journals), as that would violate the terms of the "Data Access Protocol" signed when gaining access to the Data Portal.
